About Francis Isher
Francis Isher is an Irish born, Glasgow-based poet. Francis is a romantic poet, and author of a number of titles, whose work honours themes such as the Natural World, Time, Dreaming, the Mother Archetype, and Glasgow (the poet’s spiritual hometown). Fighting against convention, and creative limitation, Francis is both neurodiverse and a rule breaker at heart. Always seeking to disrupt structure, his poetry challenges the reader by turning form and language on its head. Pushing creative imagination, and feeling into the heart the message, most of the works are mediations on free verse, though meter is equally important, and rhyme will make its way naturally into the work. Toying with traditional forms, you will find thirteen-line sonnets, and pastoral poems dedicated to sacred themes, folded into his works. For seekers all over the world; for anyone who has longed for a connection through poetry or who feels the peace that comes from poetic meditations, these books have been curated for you.
"When meeting with an emotion in a dream, and being inadequately armed with only words to describe the overwhelming feeling of love that follows, is like being given a tree stump with which to draw a butterfly."
Francis Isher
"When these strands of raw emotion, appear in daydreams, it seems the only format suitable to attempt to capture the heartbreak is a Poem"
Francis Isher
"Every time verse is created, it feels like I've been humbled, my sense of self has somehow faded, and something endlessly greater than us is reminding me of its presence."
Francis Isher
"To belong on the outside of things, has served me well, the lack of involvement has allowed me to participate in the most personal, and silent of capitulations."
